Re: KC PPP exceedingly fungible March 12, 2000 09:02 pm
I was the one who challenged the numbers and I haven't been watching this board for much of the afternoon so I missed out on the "controversy" re: one person assuming multiple identities but I can assure you that I am not Skek and hopefully I'm not a "Skekking geek" - whatever that means. The only quoted numbers that I was challenging were BSPMs and I wasn't intending to cause offense. After submitting post I went back and read that the source was Am Law and realized that you had a good source. However even good sources can be "misleading". The Blackwell Sanders numbers might be technically accurate for FY '98 however, they should be taken with a huge grain of salt because the partners received a very generous gift from now retired partner Bill Sanders, Sr., to the tune of roughly six figures per partner. Sanders Sr. won a huge plaintiffs case against Sprint that was paid out in '98. BSPM's '99 numbers will undoubtedly be more in line with the numbers of Kutak and Shook.
